Samsung Galaxy Buds On Clip-On Earbuds Arrive in US for $229

Samsung is expanding its audio portfolio in the United States with the launch of the Galaxy Buds On, its first clip-on style earbuds. After being introduced earlier this month, the open-ear earbuds are now set to go on sale in the US in early November for $229. Samsung also plans to bring the Galaxy Buds On to Europe in early 2027.

The Galaxy Buds On are designed for users who want to listen to audio while staying aware of their surroundings. Samsung says the earbuds were developed using AI-assisted optimization and physics simulations, with more than 119 million ear-related data points used to improve comfort and fit. The company claims the design creates a low-pressure feel around the ear, while the band has been tuned for stability and long-term wearability.

To reduce sound escaping from the earbuds, Samsung has included Audio Leakage Reduction technology. The system works by projecting reversed sound waves from the rear of the speaker, helping keep audio more private. The Galaxy Buds On are powered by the Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform and feature three microphones on each bud, along with a voice pickup unit that detects speech through bone and skin movement. This works with Intelligent Clear Call to help isolate the user’s voice and reduce background noise during calls.

Additional features include hands-free access to Gemini, Quick Voice Memo support, and head gesture controls for accepting or rejecting calls. Each earbud is equipped with an 11.3mm driver and a 61mAh battery. Samsung estimates up to 9.5 hours of music playback and up to 5.5 hours of call time on a single charge. With the charging case, total usage can reach up to 38 hours for music or 25 hours for calls. The Galaxy Buds On support Bluetooth 6.2, Samsung Seamless Codec, AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs, and they come with an IP54 rating for dust and sweat resistance.
