Samsung’s next-generation mobile processor is generating buzz after new reports suggested that the upcoming Exynos 2700 may hold a notable performance advantage over Qualcomm’s latest flagship silicon in early internal testing. If the claims prove accurate, it could mark a stronger showing for Samsung’s in-house chips as preparations continue for the Galaxy S27 lineup.

According to the latest report, Samsung recently tested the Exynos 2700 against Qualcomm’s newly announced platforms, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 found in the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. In the Geekbench 6.5 multi-core CPU test, the Exynos 2700 allegedly reached around 13,000 points, while Qualcomm’s chip reportedly scored close to 11,000 points, giving Samsung an approximate 20% lead. In Geekbench 7.0, the Exynos chip was said to remain ahead by about 15%.

The reported advantage was even larger when the Exynos 2700 was compared with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 used in the Xiaomi 18 Pro. In that comparison, Samsung’s chip allegedly led by 44% in Geekbench 6.5 and 36% in Geekbench 7.0.

GPU performance is also rumored to favor Samsung. The Exynos 2700 reportedly delivered around 20% higher peak graphics performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in demanding games using the latest graphics technologies. In more typical high-end 3D gaming scenarios, the chip is said to have maintained roughly a 5% baseline performance advantage, though additional technical details were not available.

The Exynos 2600 is currently used in select Galaxy S26 models and the Galaxy Z Flip8, and its successor is expected to be produced using Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 2nm process, known as SF2P. The chip is also rumored to feature improved Heat Path Block packaging, which is intended to improve thermal control and support more consistent performance under load. Still, because these are internal benchmark results, real-world performance, power efficiency, and thermals may differ once final retail versions of the Galaxy S27 become available.
