Weekly Poll: OnePlus 16 Shows Strong Global Appeal Despite Limited Availability

Source: Date:

This week’s poll results suggest that the OnePlus 16 has captured significant attention from readers, even though its official release may remain limited. The smartphone appears to have resonated with enthusiasts who still want a premium OnePlus flagship, with many respondents showing strong interest despite potential purchasing barriers.

The latest poll points to a clear winner in reader interest: the OnePlus 16.

According to the responses, the device is compelling enough that a notable number of voters are considering importing it. Interest is particularly strong in India, which is expected to be one of only two markets, alongside China, to receive an official launch.

The largest group of participants, nearly one-third of the total, said they are interested in the OnePlus 16 but do not want to deal with the complications of importing a unit from overseas. Even the launch of the Oppo Find X10 series did not significantly shift attention away from the OnePlus 16, suggesting that many readers view it as a standout flagship.

Price remains a key discussion point. While the Indian pricing is still unknown, the base 12GB/256GB model in China costs CNY 6,000, making it more expensive than last year’s top-spec 16GB/1TB OnePlus 15, which launched at CNY 5,400. Still, only about 12% of respondents said the price is unreasonable, a figure roughly equal to the share of voters considering other flagship devices.

Even with strong interest, it may be too late for OnePlus to reclaim a major position on the global stage. That could leave Oppo, positioned as the more premium brand, and Realme, which did not release a GT-series flagship this year, to attract buyers looking for alternatives.
