vivo S70 Rumored to Launch Soon With Teleconverter-Compatible Periscope Camera

Source: Date:

vivo may already be preparing the successor to the S60 series, despite that lineup only being introduced in China earlier this year. A fresh report suggests the upcoming vivo S70 is close to launch and could bring a distinctive camera feature aimed at enhancing zoom photography.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the vivo S70 is being tested with a 64MP Sony LYT610 periscope telephoto camera that supports a teleconverter. This would allow the phone to extend its zoom capabilities further through an external accessory.

The leak also claims that current engineering samples include a 6.59-inch AMOLED LTPS display with 1.5K resolution. For performance, the device is expected to use a Snapdragon 8s series chipset, most likely the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

In a follow-up comment, the tipster mentioned that vivo once tested a rear display on an early S70 engineering unit, but the feature was later removed. The phone is rumored to debut as early as next month.
