In a notable move, Apple has increased the prices of several of its iPhone models shortly after the introduction of the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and the innovative iPhone Duo. Effective immediately, the prices for the iPhone 17 series, iPhone Air, and iPhone 16 have risen by $100 from their original launch prices. The freshly minted iPhone 17 starts at $899 in the United States.
The new pricing structure sees the iPhone 17e beginning at $699, while the iPhone Air is now priced at $1,099. Additionally, the iPhone 16 has a starting price of $799 for its base 128GB model in the US.
This price adjustment is not limited to the US; it is applicable in all regions where these iPhone models are currently available.
Traditionally, Apple decreases the prices of older-generation iPhones after launching new models. However, this recent price increase is unusual and is attributed to the ongoing memory supply issues affecting many tech products. Furthermore, Apple has also raised prices in other categories, including Macs, iPads, and HomePods, reflecting broader market challenges.
In India, the iPhone 17 is now available starting at INR 99,900 ($1,050), while the iPhone Air starts at INR 1,49,900 ($1,575). The iPhone 17e is priced at INR 79,900 ($840), and the iPhone 16 now retails for INR 89,900 ($945).
