In an exciting development for Apple enthusiasts, a recent report indicates that Apple is set to enhance its MacBook Pro line with the introduction of 14-inch and 16-inch models featuring OLED touchscreen displays. Expected to launch between late 2026 and early 2027, these updates reflect Apple's ongoing commitment to innovation. The exclusive supplier for the OLED panels will be none other than Samsung Display, as outlined in a new report from South Korea’s The Elec.
This decision marks a significant shift in supplier strategy, especially considering previous speculation that LG Display would also be in the running. LG reportedly proposed utilizing its sixth-generation OLED line, but Samsung's offering of its more advanced and efficient 8.6-generation OLED line ultimately secured Apple's commitment for exclusivity.
According to the report, Samsung is expected to provide approximately 2.5 million OLED display units for the forthcoming MacBook Pro models. In addition to this development, Samsung is poised to also become the exclusive OLED panel supplier for the anticipated iPhone Ultra.
