In an exciting development for electric vehicle enthusiasts, the highly anticipated BMW i4 Convertible has been spotted undergoing testing in camouflage. This marks a significant milestone as it will be BMW's first convertible electric vehicle, set to enter a niche market alongside competitors like the Fiat 500e Cabrio and the MG Cyberster.
The prototype reveals some of its design features, including a soft fabric top instead of the more traditional folding hardtop. Built on the framework of the upcoming BMW i3, the i4 Convertible is expected to incorporate advanced technology with an 800V architecture and a remarkable WLTP range surpassing 497 miles.
The vehicle, codenamed NA3, will showcase BMW's innovative Neue Klasse design language, featuring a distinctive closed-off front grille and sleek new headlights. The car will be designed with a 2+2 seating configuration and two doors, catering to both style and functionality.
Additionally, BMW plans to unveil the i4 Coupe (also NA3) around the same time as the convertible, with expectations of both models hitting the market in 2028. This launch signifies BMW's commitment to expanding its electric lineup and exploring new segments within the EV space.
