Google has announced an exciting new feature that enhances the interaction between Pixel devices, allowing users to unlock their Pixel Watch using their Pixel phone. Following the existing Watch Unlock feature, which lets users unlock their phone via the watch, this new capability will simplify access to your watch even further.

Recent discoveries in the Connected Phone & Watch app code reveal a "Phone to Watch Unlock" feature in development. This feature aims to allow your Pixel Watch to automatically unlock when your paired Pixel phone is unlocked, although it appears to be limited to devices within the Pixel ecosystem.

When this feature becomes available, you will no longer need to input a PIN or pattern to access your watch; simply unlocking your phone will suffice. Users may receive proactive notifications such as "Automatically unlock your watch?" and "Unlocking your watch just got easier" to guide them through the new functionality.

To set up this feature, a one-time configuration process is required. Users will need to first enter the watch's PIN or pattern on their phone to enable the automatic unlocking. If you acquire a new Pixel Watch, the trust established with your previous watch will be transferred to the new device seamlessly, avoiding the hassle of reconfiguration.

While a specific release date for this feature remains unconfirmed, it’s possible that it will debut alongside the Pixel Watch 5, scheduled for unveiling on August 12, making it a highly anticipated addition to Google’s lineup.
