Smartphones equipped with e-ink displays are ideal for reading, yet Android's design does not fully accommodate the limitations of slow refresh rates. To address this, Hisense has developed an innovative solution.
The Hisense A10 features a 6.13-inch e-ink panel, akin to what is found on Kindle e-readers. The device also offers a detachable LCD that can be magnetically attached to the back.
While the precise details of this additional screen remain undisclosed, it is expected to be sold separately.
The Hisense A10 without the LCD and with the LCD add-on
This upcoming phone, running on Android 16, is a 5G device powered by an unnamed 4nm Snapdragon chipset, although full specifications haven't been released yet.
The Hisense A10 will retail for CNY 4,000 (approximately $590) without the LCD attachment. The cost of the LCD is anticipated to be significantly high, possibly reaching CNY 3,000 (around $440).
Additionally, Bigme recently announced a similar concept: the Bigme Hibreak Dual 2, featuring a 6.13-inch e-ink display on one side and a 5-inch integrated LCD on the opposite side, which will be available via Kickstarter.
