Update: Ice Universe believes that the leaked video actually features a Galaxy Z Fold7 rather than the Z Fold8 Ultra. Among several indicators, Ice highlights that the Z Fold8 is expected to include an anti-reflective film, yet the device in the video shows substantial reflections. Additionally, the punch hole for the selfie camera appears larger than anticipated, which has been a point of focus for Ice.
At CES, Samsung previewed a foldable display that boasts no visible crease. This demonstration suggested a glimpse of the forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and now we have confirmation – an insider from the production chain recorded a video of a prototype showcasing this innovative feature.
While the video quality isn’t perfect (it improves in landscape mode), the standout aspect is the overhead light reflections, a setup that typically accentuates crease visibility.
The display appears completely flat, marking a significant achievement for Samsung Display after several iterations. Although this advancement may have involved trade-offs, it remains a remarkable accomplishment. Whether it outperforms the Oppo Find N6’s “Zero-Feel Crease” will be a question for review once we have access to a unit. Furthermore, Apple is set to unveil its inaugural foldable device, addressing crease concerns previously raised by the company's perfectionists. Notably, this challenge was addressed in collaboration with Samsung Display.
If you’re unaware, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will succeed the Z Fold7. Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy Z Fold8 will represent the new wide-format foldable, with dummy units of both models photographed recently. Additionally, there will be the Galaxy Z Flip8, which is likely the latest (and potentially last) iteration of the flip-style foldable. CAD-based renders of all three models, along with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, can be found here.

It is anticipated that this generation will see price hikes across the board. Samsung has confirmed the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, although the Z Flip8 may use the Exynos 2600 in specific regions.
The new foldables (and Galaxy watches) are scheduled for an official reveal on July 22. Pre-reservations are currently available, and signing up now will grant you a $30 voucher.
