In response to its recent court loss against Epic Games, Google has reduced its fees for developers publishing apps on the Play Store. The platform's cut has decreased from 30% to 10% for a developer's first $1 million in annual revenue. Additionally, if developers choose to use Google's billing system, a fee of 5% applies in the US, UK, and EEA. This updated fee structure will be implemented starting June 30 in the US, UK, and European Economic Area.

Moreover, developers will have the option to utilize third-party billing systems. This change will be rolled out globally, starting June 30 for developers providing digital services or content in the UK and EEA, followed by Australia on September 30, Japan and Korea on December 31, and the rest of the world by September 30, 2027.

Additionally, Google is launching new guidelines for its Games Level Up and Apps Experience programs. Apps and games that comply with these new criteria will be eligible for reduced rates, effective September 30.
