Total Wireless, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) owned by Verizon, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Western Union, making it the first and only US carrier to offer a global monthly transfer benefit to its plans.

Beginning today, Total Wireless customers can send money to friends and family in over 200 countries and territories using Western Union's mobile app or website. This offer is available to subscribers on the MAX 5G BYO, MAX 5G, and ALL ACCESS plans, allowing one transfer per month at no cost.

The company claims this initiative represents a significant advancement in telecommunications, addressing the financial needs of communities that have traditionally been underserved by wireless carriers.

David Kim, President of Verizon Value, commented:

Total Wireless was built around the idea that a great wireless plan should do more for the people who rely on it most. By integrating a Western Union money transfer into our plans, we affirm our belief that no one should have to choose between staying connected and taking care of their loved ones. We are proud to be the first carrier to offer this.

Jesse Mory, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Western Union, added:

For generations, Western Union has facilitated the transfer of money across borders, recognizing that every transaction signifies more than just dollars; it embodies our mission to make financial services accessible to everyone. Our partnership with Total Wireless will simplify the process for customers to support their loved ones, transforming an everyday wireless plan into a more meaningful way to stay connected, care for family, and transfer money with confidence.
