Tecno's latest offering, the Pova 8, introduces an innovative Alive Matrix Display on its camera island, a departure from the previous Pova 7’s Delta Light Interface. This small dot-matrix display enhances the aesthetic while housing a single camera.
The Pova 8 comes equipped with an impressive 8,000mAh battery, an upgrade from its predecessor's 6,000mAh. TÜV SÜD testing confirms that the battery can last up to two days on a single charge and is rated for over 2,000 cycles, ensuring at least 80% of its original capacity for up to six years.
With 45W fast charging, the battery can recharge from 1% to 50% in just 35 minutes. However, the previously available 30W wireless charging feature has been removed, and 10W reverse charging is now an option.
The phone is powered by the Dimensity 7100 chipset, which, while newer than the Dimensity 7300 in Pova 7, utilizes an older 6nm semiconductor node compared to the latter's 4nm. The chipset is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, allowing for stable 90fps gameplay on popular titles like Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
The phone features a triangular camera setup, which gives the impression of three lenses, but only contains a single 50MP Sony Lytia 600 sensor, featuring 2x in-sensor zoom and autofocus. A 13MP selfie camera is also included.
The 6.76-inch IPS LCD display boasts a high refresh rate of 144Hz and a resolution of 1080p+. It features a 240Hz touch sampling rate and Wet & Oily Finger Touch Recognition 2.0. The Pova 8 operates on HiOS 16, based on Android 16.
Tecno Pova 8 Colors: Arc White, Graphite Black, Helios Orange, Echo Green
The Tecno Pova 8 will soon be available in four colors: Arc White, Graphite Black, Helios Orange, and Echo Green. It retains the IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, similar to its predecessor.
Update: The Tecno Pova 8 is now available for pre-order on Flipkart. The 6/128GB model is priced at ₹30,000, while the 8/128GB version costs ₹32,000. Sales commence on June 18.
