Tecno's latest smartphone, the Pova 8, introduces an innovative Alive Matrix Display integrated into its camera design, contributing to a unique aesthetic. This new model builds on the features of the Pova 7, which was inspired by the Nothing Phone's Delta Light Interface—a triangular light strip housing 104 LEDs.
The Pova 8 offers substantial upgrades, including a massive 8,000mAh battery—an increase from the 6,000mAh battery found in its predecessor. TÜV SÜD has confirmed that this phone can last up to two days on a single charge. Remarkably, the battery is rated for over 2,000 cycles, maintaining at least 80% of its original capacity, translating into approximately six years of usage.

The device supports 45W fast charging, enabling it to charge from 1% to 50% in just 35 minutes. Additionally, reverse charging at 10W is available, although it does not support the 30W wireless charging feature found in the Pova 7.
On the performance front, the Pova 8 is equipped with the Dimensity 7100 chipset. Despite being launched later than the Dimensity 7300 used in the previous model, it employs the older TSMC 6nm manufacturing process, as opposed to the more advanced 4nm technology.

This chipset is enhanced by a 15,000mm² graphite heat spreader and is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Tecno claims the device has been optimized for stable 90fps performance in popular games like Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Although the back of the Pova 8 appears to feature three cameras within its triangular camera island, only one is a functional camera: a 50MP Sony Lytia 600 (1/1.95”) sensor with 2x in-sensor zoom and an autofocus lens. The second 'lens' serves as the Alive Matrix Display, while the other camera is a 13MP front-facing module.

The Pova 8's display features a 6.76” IPS LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1080p+. It also offers a 240Hz touch sampling rate and includes Wet & Oily Finger Touch Recognition 2.0. The phone runs on HiOS 16 based on Android 16 right out of the box.
Available Colors: Arc White, Graphite Black, Helios Orange, and Echo Green.
The Tecno Pova 8, rated IP64 for dust and splash resistance, will soon be available for pre-order on Flipkart. The 6/128GB version is priced at ₹30,000, while the 8/128GB model will retail for ₹32,000, with sales commencing on June 18.
