Samsung has launched a significant update to the Samsung Health app, featuring a redesigned user interface and new health functionalities supported by the forthcoming Galaxy Watch.
The update introduces a streamlined interface with five primary categories: Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness, and Vitals. Users can now view daily wellness tips and an AI-powered Energy Score on the home screen, enabling more straightforward tracking of their health.

Among the newly introduced features are Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, and Fitness Index, which will debut on the upcoming Galaxy Watch.
The Vitals feature evaluates five crucial overnight bio-signals against your true resting baseline upon waking: heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen levels. It notifies users only when significant deviations are detected, aiding in the assessment of whether one is combating an illness or simply needs additional rest.

The previously introduced Vascular Load feature has been upgraded to the Heart Health Score. This score combines body composition data with factors such as sleep, stress, and activity gathered from Vascular Load, offering a comprehensive insight into heart health and identifying habits that affect long-term wellness.

The Daily Cardio Load feature tracks accumulated cardiovascular strain, calculating daily load and maximum training capacity to suggest optimal training targets and recovery periods. This capability assists users in achieving their fitness goals while reducing the risk of burnout or injury.

Finally, the Fitness Index feature evaluates a user's heart rate, VO2 Max, and daily steps, benchmarking them against peers to ensure exercise routines yield the desired outcomes. This feature also identifies individual physical strengths and weaknesses, providing tailored content and personalized goals for continual improvement.

In addition to these enhancements, the Samsung Health app update improves the AGEs index, which automatically captures overnight measurements and creates a long-term overview of how a user's lifestyle affects their health.
Moreover, Samsung has refined the Antioxidant Index, which now offers users a more detailed understanding of their nutritional intake. Utilizing new trend charts and daily history logs, it visually links users' dietary choices to their physical responses over time.
The update also introduces a new Hearing Health feature that monitors ambient noise through Galaxy Watch and provides personalized analytics to protect users' hearing in loud environments.
In its official press release, Samsung stated, "These advancements offer a glimpse into the future of Samsung Health — a future that will be fully realized with the launch of Samsung's next generation of Galaxy Watches, engineered to bring this proactive intelligence to life like never before."
Samsung confirmed that its next-gen Galaxy Watch series will include multiple models, though specific names and quantities have yet to be disclosed. Rumors suggest there may be three models: the Galaxy Watch9, Galaxy Watch9 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. These devices are expected to be officially unveiled on July 22, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
Returning to the Samsung Health app update, Samsung plans to roll it out starting June 8. However, existing Galaxy Watch owners will need to wait, as new features will first be available on the upcoming Galaxy Watches.
