Apple may be developing a black version of the Vision Pro headset. Images allegedly depicting this variant have surfaced (see below); however, it remains uncertain whether this model will serve as an alternative to the existing white version or is merely a prototype that has been shelved during development.

Adding to the speculation, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has updated his forecast concerning Apple's smart glasses and headsets, originally revealed last year. In this updated roadmap, there are no plans for a successor to the Vision Pro; it appears that the development of this product line has been canceled in favor of two new smart glasses.
This direction has reportedly been influenced by Apple’s upcoming CEO, John Ternus, who believes that smart glasses possess "greater mass-market potential," according to Kuo. This shift suggests that the new glasses will be more affordable than the Vision Pro.
The first model of Apple Glasses will reportedly lack a screen and is projected to launch next year, competing with the screen-less Meta Ray-Ban. Following this, a version equipped with "optical waveguides" is anticipated to be released, although that timeline has now been pushed to 2029.
