Samsung is set to unveil two book-style folding smartphones this year: the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Initially referred to as Fold8 Wide, the latter was previously simply called Fold8. This renaming, which occurred last month, sparked some confusion. Now, the name Fold8 Ultra has been officially confirmed.
This validation comes from the Bluetooth SIG, which has included the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra in its certification database. Although the listing does not disclose any specifications for the Fold8 Ultra, it presents five model numbers: SC-56G, SCG39, SM-F976C, SM-F976Q, and SM-F976Z.

According to rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is expected to feature a 5,000 mAh battery, support 45W wired charging, and weigh 215 grams. Its unfolded thickness will be 4.1mm, making it 0.1mm slimmer than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold7.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 will come with a 4,800 mAh battery but will maintain the same charging speed as the Ultra model. It is expected to weigh 201 grams and feature an upgraded 50MP camera with native support for a 24MP shooting mode.

Reports suggest that the display creases on both the Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra may be as minimal as those on the Oppo Find N6. Samsung is anticipated to unveil these smartphones on July 22 at an event in London, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip8.
