OpenAI's head of countries, George Osborne, announced that the company will voluntarily comply with President Trump's recent AI executive order.
Signed on Tuesday, the order requests (but does not mandate) access to the latest AI models 30 days prior to their public release. Originally, the order required companies to submit their AI models 90 days in advance, but after public pushback and Trump's own expressed doubts, this was modified.

As part of this initiative, OpenAI will submit its upcoming AI models to a benchmarking process aimed at evaluating the "advanced cyber capabilities of AI models" and determining the criteria for designating an AI model as a "covered frontier model."
During his appearance at SXSW in London, Osborne commented that OpenAI is actively proposing strategies for governments to monitor AI safety and security issues, not just in the U.S., but on a global scale.
