Apple aims to strengthen its ties with app developers in Europe by announcing its first Apple Developer Center on the continent, set to open later this year in the Mitte district of Berlin, Germany. Currently, Apple operates Developer Centers in Bengaluru, Cupertino, Shanghai, and Singapore.

This new center will offer workshops where developers can deepen their knowledge about Apple's diverse platforms, including iOS for phones, iPadOS for tablets, macOS for desktops, watchOS for smartwatches, tvOS for streaming devices, and visionOS for XR headsets.

In addition to workshops, developers will have access to personal sessions and one-on-one appointments with Apple experts for specific support related to their app projects. The facility will feature consultation areas and dedicated labs staffed by “Apple experts in multiple languages,” likely referring to both spoken and programming languages.

Apple also operates a Developer Academy in Naples, Italy, along with Apple Foundation Programs in Italy and France. Developers should explore the App Store Small Business Program, which offers a reduced commission rate of 15% for small businesses generating less than $1 million annually.

According to the press release, Apple App Stores in Europe attracted an impressive 150 million average weekly users last year.

“Europe is home to an extraordinary community of developers who are building apps that create connections, encourage creativity, and drive innovation. We have always believed that when developers have the right tools and resources to do their best work, incredible things follow. That belief is what this center is built on, and we look forward to seeing what the community continues to develop,” stated Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations.
