
Samsung recently introduced the Galaxy Book6 series of laptops at CES in January, featuring Intel’s advanced 18A Core Ultra Series 3 processors. Additionally, there is an Edge model on the horizon – "Edge" refers to Samsung's ARM-powered laptops.
This information emerged when the German retailer Cyberport prematurely listed the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Edge on its online platform. The listing showcases the base 16” model, which comes equipped with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, priced at a substantial €2,200.
The laptop is powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite, specifically utilizing the X2E-88-100 variant. It boasts an 18-core CPU, consisting of 12 prime cores and 6 performance cores, along with an XE-90 GPU that operates at 1.7GHz. This model employs LPDDR5X RAM over a 128-bit bus, enabling impressive speeds of 152GB/s. All X2 Elite variants feature NPUs capable of 80 TOPS INT8 performance, enhancing the AI capabilities in Windows 11.
Samsung Galaxy Book6 Edge
The Galaxy Book6 Edge is designed with a 16” OLED display offering a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, paired with a 120Hz refresh rate (though it is not a touchscreen). The screen features an anti-glare coating and can achieve a brightness level of 500 nits.
This laptop measures a mere 12.3mm in thickness and weighs 1.55kg, housing a 61.8Wh battery that can last up to 22 hours on a single charge. Currently, it remains uncertain whether a smaller 14” variant will be produced.
Regarding connectivity, the device is equipped with one HDMI 2.1 port, two USB 4.0 ports, one USB 3.2 port (Type-A), a headphone jack, and a microSD slot. Wireless features include tri-band Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Additional features consist of a fingerprint reader and a 1080p webcam.
