Kia unveiled its new EV4 GT at the Brussels Motor Show, and initial units are already being spotted on public roads. This model is part of Kia's ambitious strategy to develop high-performance versions of nearly every electric vehicle in their lineup. From the compact 3 GT to the larger 9 GT, Kia aims to demonstrate that electric vehicles can be just as enjoyable to drive as their gasoline counterparts.
The EV4 GT marks a significant milestone for Kia as it represents their inaugural entry into the electric "hot hatch" market. The model comes in two variants: a traditional hatchback and a sedan version known as the Fastback. Although the vehicle was recently seen covered in camouflage, we have gathered substantial information about its specifications.

Performance-wise, the EV4 GT does not disappoint. It features a dual-motor system that provides all-wheel drive, with the front motor generating 145 kW (approximately 194 horsepower) and the rear motor contributing an additional 70 kW (about 94 horsepower). Combined, this results in a total output of 215 kW, or 288 horsepower, delivering impressive acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds.
To power these motors, Kia has equipped the EV4 GT with a substantial 81.4 kWh battery. While official figures for single-charge range have yet to be released, estimates suggest that the standard version can reach up to 582 km before requiring a recharge. Given that the GT variant is designed for performance and incorporates dual motors, its range will likely be slightly lower than that of the standard model.

Inside the cabin, Kia has ensured that drivers experience a sports car ambiance. The EV4 GT is fitted with semi-bucket seats designed to support occupants during sharp turns. Additional features include a distinctive three-spoke steering wheel and a digital display that differs from other models. Furthermore, a Virtual Gear Shifter is integrated to mimic the sensation of gear shifting, even producing synthetic engine sounds through the audio system.
As for pricing, Kia has commenced order acceptance in South Korea, setting the starting cost for the EV4 GT at 55.17 million won, which is approximately €32,400 to €33,300. This pricing is competitive for a vehicle equipped with such advanced technology and performance capabilities.
However, for prospective buyers in the United States, the wait may be prolonged or indefinite. Kia has temporarily halted plans to introduce the standard EV4 to the U.S. market due to new tariffs on imported vehicles and adjustments to government policies regarding the $7,500 tax credit. While the 3 GT might still be available in the U.S. later this year, the EV4 GT appears destined for European and Asian markets for the time being.
