Exciting Rumors: iPhone 19e May Feature ProMotion Display Technology

Source: Date:

Less than a week after the announcement of the iPhone 17e, rumors are already circulating about its successor's successor, the iPhone 19e. Expected to launch in early 2028, the iPhone 19e is rumored to introduce a ProMotion display, featuring variable refresh rates, a significant advancement for the budget "e" lineup, which has traditionally utilized 60Hz panels.

A recent report from ZDNet Korea indicates that Apple is currently developing new LTPO+ technology that employs oxide materials for both switching and driving transistors. This innovation promises enhanced power efficiency and faster response times.

The new display technology is anticipated to debut in the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series, as well as the next-generation iPhone Air and a foldable iPhone. If successfully integrated into these premium devices, the updated LTPO panels may eventually be used in the iPhone 19e.

However, there is still considerable uncertainty regarding whether the iPhone 19e will indeed feature an LTPO panel. Details about the type of ProMotion display that might be included remain scarce, as not all ProMotion displays are identical. For instance, the iPhone 13 Pro series offered a refresh rate range from 10Hz to 120Hz, while the iPhone 14 Pro generation reduced the lower limit to just 1Hz.
