Avatr has introduced its latest innovation, the Avatr 06T, a performance-oriented electric station wagon. Unlike many contemporary electric vehicles that resemble bubbles or tall SUVs, the Avatr 06T features a sleek, low-to-the-ground design that suggests racetrack readiness. The initial images showcase this striking model in an eye-catching orange hue, making it impossible to overlook. This new wagon is based on the prior Avatr 06 sedan, yet incorporates key modifications based on customer feedback.

A notable transformation can be observed at the rear of the vehicle. Previously, Avatr gained criticism for producing cars without a rear window, forcing drivers to rely on cameras for rear visibility. The Avatr 06T rectifies this issue by including a standard glass rear window, complete with a small, cleverly concealed wiper integrated into the roof spoiler, enhancing the vehicle's streamlined appearance. This shift in design reflects the company's responsiveness to consumer preferences.

Size is a crucial factor when selecting a family vehicle, and the Avatr 06T stands out with its larger dimensions compared to the sedan variant, measuring {{4,940 mm}} in length, along with a width of 1,960 mm and a height of 1,475 mm. The elongated roof design also provides an additional 15 mm of headroom for rear passengers. Boasting a long wheelbase of 2,940 mm, the Avatr 06T ensures ample legroom for all occupants.

If speed is a priority, this wagon delivers with impressive performance capabilities. The high-performance model is equipped with three electric motors—one located in the front and two positioned in the rear—producing a collective output of 712 kW, equivalent to an astounding 955 horsepower. This substantial power is supported by a robust 89.33 kWh battery, allowing the vehicle to cover over 740 km on a full charge, according to optimistic Chinese testing standards.

Recognizing that not all consumers prefer a fully electric car, Avatr is also launching a hybrid variant. This model integrates a smaller battery with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, functioning as a portable generator. It is equipped with a 45.06 kWh battery, capable of traveling 330 km using electric power before the petrol engine engages.

The interior features an expansive 35.4-inch display that spans the entire width of the windshield, along with a 15.6-inch touchscreen situated in the center of the dashboard for seamless access to navigation and audio controls. The vehicle utilizes Huawei's latest HarmonySpace 5.0 technology. Additionally, the door handles have been redesigned to be semi-hidden, a change aimed at facilitating easier access during emergencies.

Safety features and advanced driving assistance technologies are significant selling points for the Avatr 06T. It is the first vehicle to be equipped with the new Qiankun 2.0 ADAS, which includes a cutting-edge 192-line LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof, resembling a small watchtower. This sensor can detect objects up to 250 m away, representing a 20% enhancement over previous models.

The Avatr 06T is expected to hit the streets shortly, with an official launch scheduled for May 2026, coinciding with China's May Day holiday. While pricing has yet to be finalized, estimates suggest it will range between RMB 200,000 and RMB 280,000—approximately €23,900 to €33,300. Given its nearly 1,000 horsepower and cutting-edge technology, this pricing is considered competitive. It will be intriguing to witness whether this high-performance, eye-catching wagon can entice consumers to reconsider their SUV preferences.
