At the end of last year, Honor launched the Play series in China, introducing the entry-level 5G smartphone, the Play 60A. Now, a nearly identical variant has surfaced in the United Arab Emirates, known as the Honor X6d.
The Honor X6d closely resembles the Play 60A, with the primary distinction being its upgraded 50MP f/2.0 main camera, compared to the 13MP f/2.2 camera found in the latter. While both devices feature a single rear lens and support 1080p video recording at 30fps, the higher resolution camera represents a significant improvement. The front-facing 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera remains unchanged.
Another slight variation is in the battery; the X6d is equipped with a 5,260mAh battery, in contrast to the 5,300mAh battery of the Play 60A. However, the capacity difference is minimal, suggesting they may indeed use the same battery with different specifications.
The Honor X6d is powered by the Dimensity 6300 chipset, a budget-friendly 6nm processor noted for its effective 5G modem. It is accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, although there is no information regarding expandability. The device runs Android 15 with MagicOS on top.
The smartphone features a 6.75-inch LCD display with a 720p+ resolution. Regarding biometric security, the specifications available do not mention a fingerprint sensor; if present, it is likely located on the side.
Additionally, this is a dual-SIM device, though specifics about connectivity options such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth remain undisclosed. For context, the Play 60A is equipped with Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX HD but lacks NFC.
The Honor X6d is priced at AED 509, which is approximately $138, €116, or ₹12,555. It is available in two color variants: Midnight Black and Ocean Cyan.
Interestingly, a recent certification by the GCF revealed that the X6d has a model number of NLA-NX1, which is also associated with another device named Honor 500 Smart.
There are several Honor 500 models currently available in China featuring designs reminiscent of the iPhone Air, along with substantial batteries, some reaching up to 8,000mAh. However, the Honor X6d, or potentially the 500 Pro, does not match these attributes.
Thanks for the tip!
