While Samsung has yet to officially announce it, leaked invites for the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event suggest it will take place on February 25. Similar to last year, the event will showcase three models: Vanilla, Plus, and Ultra. Renders and specifications for these devices have been circulating for some time, and new information has emerged. This article will focus on the Galaxy S26 and S26+, with coverage of the Ultra model to follow.
Only one set of renders has surfaced for both the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ as their only difference lies in size. The table below outlines the unofficial measurements along with their predecessors for comparison.
| Galaxy S25 | Galaxy S26 | Galaxy S25+ | Galaxy S26+ | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.2” | 6.3” | 6.7” | 6.7” |
| Height | 146.9mm | 149.6mm | 158.4mm | 158.4mm |
| Width | 70.5mm | 71.7mm | 75.8mm | 75.8mm |
| Thickness | 7.2mm | 7.2mm | 7.3mm | 7.3mm |
| Weight | 162g | 137g | 190g | 190g |
| Battery | 4,000mAh | 4,300mAh | 4,900mAh | 4,900mAh |
Notably, the Galaxy S26+ shares identical dimensions with its predecessor, while the standard S26 is expected to be significantly lighter despite maintaining the same thickness.
The Galaxy S26 will feature a slight increase in screen size to 6.3”, resulting in a taller and wider chassis. The Plus model will retain its 6.7” display without any upgrade, although it is rumored to have new protective glass.
There's a possibility that the standard model will receive an upgrade to 45W charging, aligning it with the S26+. The S26 Ultra is expected to support charging speeds of up to 60W to distinguish itself. Additionally, the battery capacity for the S26 will increase by 300mAh.
All S26 models will incorporate magnetic Qi2 charging and satellite communication. The standard version is also set to finally include UWB, a feature absent in previous models, which is essential for users of tracking tags.
Samsung Galaxy S26 (speculative renders)
While current renders showcase only a black variant, the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ are expected to be available in three additional colors: white, violet, and blue.
Recently, the Galaxy S26+ (and S26 Ultra) were seen on Geekbench powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, although there remains some uncertainty regarding the regions that may receive the Exynos 2600 instead. It's also worth noting that the vanilla model will finally offer 256GB as its base storage option—an upgrade that could significantly impact pricing.
