
The Redmi Turbo 5 was unveiled alongside the Turbo 5 Max in China yesterday and features the new Dimensity 8500-Ultra SoC with a slightly smaller battery.
This marks the Turbo 5 as the first phone to utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset. It boasts LPDDR5 Ultra RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and a vapor chamber cooling system similar to that of the Turbo 5 Max.

The smartphone features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,500 nits peak brightness, and a 1.5K resolution. Additionally, it is a 12-bit panel with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support.
Equipped with a 7,560mAh battery, the Turbo 5 supports 100W wired charging and also includes 27W reverse wired charging, a feature shared with the Turbo 5 Max.

In terms of photography, the Turbo 5 sports a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary rear sensor, complemented by an 8MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, a 20MP front camera is available.
The device runs on Android 16-based Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and features a sturdy metal frame with a glass back, akin to the Turbo 5 Max.
Additional specifications include an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, infrared sensor, stereo speakers, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and NFC. It measures 8.18mm in thickness and weighs 204g.

The Redmi Turbo 5 is available in Auspicious Cloud White, Light Sea Green, and Shadow Black color options.
Customers can place orders through the official Xiaomi China online store, with the pricing as follows: the 12GB/256GB option is CNY 1,999 ($290), the 12GB/512GB variant is CNY 2,299 ($330), the 16GB/256GB model is priced at CNY 2,299 ($330), and the 16GB/512GB option costs CNY 2,599 ($370).
