Xiaomi Turbo 5 Series Set to Launch with Unprecedented Battery Capacity
Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of its highly anticipated Turbo 5 series smartphones, featuring some of the largest battery capacities ever seen in its devices. With the launch set for January 29 in China, fans are eagerly awaiting details about the Turbo 5 Pro and the Turbo 5 Max models, especially the Max variant, which boasts a remarkable 9,000 mAh battery.
Unmatched Battery Technology
In a recent post on Weibo, Redmi officially announced that their Turbo 5 series will debut in China on January 29. Among the two models included in the lineup, the Turbo 5 Max stands out with a massive 9,000 mAh battery—Xiaomi's largest to date. This new battery size outstrips the expected 8,000 mAh battery that will feature in the Xiaomi 17 Max.
A previous report noted that the Turbo 5 Max will integrate Surge P3 charging technology, which enables impressive reverse charging capabilities of up to 27W. This feature allows the device to double as a power bank, providing fast charging for secondary devices.
Charging the enormous 9,000 mAh battery is quick, as the Turbo 5 Max is expected to support 100W fast charging—ensuring minimal downtime for users. Furthermore, this device will make history as the first smartphone to showcase the new Dimensity 9500s SoC, a budget-friendly alternative to the Dimensity 9500 introduced last September.
Stylish Color Options
The Weibo post also highlighted two enticing color options for the Max variant: Ocean Breeze Blue and Sunrise Orange. Many find the Sunrise Orange option particularly appealing, reminiscent of the orange variant of the iPhone 17 Pro.
Aiming for Efficiency and Longevity
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is a device that promises high performance alongside a long-lasting battery life, ideal for users engaged in streaming and gaming.
Xiaomi is confident in the efficiency of the Dimensity 9500s chipset and the Turbo 5 Max's battery endurance, suggesting that it can outlast smartphones with batteries as large as 10,000 mAh. However, we will have to wait until the device launches to confirm this claim.
As of now, Xiaomi has not provided details on when the Turbo 5 series will be available globally, but anticipation continues to build ahead of its launch.
