A recent report, based on code found within the Phone by Google app, suggests that Samsung may incorporate Google's Scam Detection feature into the Galaxy S26 series, set to be unveiled next month.
Previously, Scam Detection, powered by on-device Gemini Nano AI, has been exclusive to the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 models and is currently available only in Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, the UK, and the US. A different version of this feature that relies on on-device machine learning is compatible with the Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 series.

The code within the Phone by Google app references specific model numbers for the Galaxy S26 series in its dialer: SM-S942 for the S26, SM-S947 for the S26+, and SM-S948 for the S26 Ultra. The Scam Detection feature has been assigned the codename "sharpie," which is mentioned in the last line of the code.
Notably, Samsung devices typically do not utilize Google's Phone app. Although users can install it from the Play Store, it remains uncertain whether the app will acquire the necessary permissions to access on-device AI functionalities, as it is not a system app. Another possibility is that Samsung may transition to Google's Phone app with the launch of One UI 8.5, which is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 family. Only time will tell.
