A new rumor from China suggests that Samsung will supply Apple with its top-tier OLED panels for the iPhone 18 lineup. These panels are expected to be significantly brighter, as BOE is reportedly struggling to meet Apple's brightness standards. Consequently, production of these panels will be shifted to Samsung, with possible contributions from LG.

This aligns with recent reports indicating that Samsung's LTPO+ panels will serve as the foundation for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. In these reports, BOE is again highlighted as a weak link in Apple's supply chain, as only Samsung and LG possess the necessary technology to produce LTPO+ panels.
The LTPO+ panels are not only expected to be brighter but will also enable Apple to place Face ID sensors behind the screen, thereby potentially eliminating the notch.
In contrast, the upcoming Galaxy S26 models are rumored to feature displays identical to those of their predecessors. This suggests that Samsung is prioritizing its best displays for Apple, leaving the Galaxy line to make do with current technology, at least for the time being.
