According to a recent report, following the confirmation that Google’s Gemini will power Siri’s upcoming transformation, Apple plans to introduce a chatbot-style version of its assistant in the next major software updates.
A Bloomberg exclusive reveals that Apple is developing a new Siri chatbot, internally codenamed Campos, which will debut with iOS 27, macOS 27, and iPadOS 27, replacing the existing Siri.

The report indicates that the Siri chatbot will operate as a standalone app integrated into Apple devices. It will support natural language communications akin to ChatGPT and Gemini, and can be activated using the wake word “Siri” or by holding the side button on iPhones and iPads.
Powered by a custom model based on Google’s Gemini, the chatbot is expected to conduct web searches, respond to queries, generate images, summarize text, analyze uploaded documents and on-screen content, manage device settings, and utilize personal data for specific tasks.
Moreover, the Siri chatbot will be intricately woven into Apple's suite of applications, allowing it to access in-app content to perform various functions. It will accommodate both voice and text-based interactions; however, it may not have the persistent memory features seen in some competing chatbots.
Bloomberg suggests that Apple is poised to unveil the new Siri chatbot at WWDC 2026.
