Apple’s OLED iPad mini (2026) posts its first Geekbench 7 scores

Apple’s new OLED iPad mini, which carries the A20 Pro chip and is set to reach customers on November 6, has already appeared in Geekbench 7. The early result gives a clear picture of what the compact tablet can do before it goes on sale.

The submission lists the iPad19,2, which corresponds to the Wi-Fi + Cellular version. It records 3,879 points in single-core performance and 9,870 points in multi-core performance. The exposed CPU configuration has five cores — two high-performance cores and three efficiency cores — with the performance cores running at 4.93GHz. That suggests the benchmarked unit is one of the 128GB or 256GB models, since those variants use a binned A20 Pro with one efficiency core switched off. The 512GB model retains the full six-core CPU. The listing also reveals 12GB of RAM, a detail Apple typically keeps out of its official specifications.

Compared with the iPhone 18 Pro Max, which has the full six-core A20 Pro, the iPad mini lands slightly behind in single-core work at roughly a 4% gap, and about 14% behind in multi-core performance. The missing efficiency core explains much of that difference. Still, this is a major jump over the previous iPad mini, which scored 2,638 single-core and 7,103 multi-core. The new model is around 47% faster in single-core and 39% faster in multi-core.

The picture gets more interesting when the iPad mini is measured against Apple’s larger tablets. The M5 iPad Pro 13 scores 3,580 single-core and 15,126 multi-core, meaning the mini leads in single-core by about 8%, while the iPad Pro is around 53% ahead in multi-core tasks. Against the M4 iPad Air 13, which posts 3,206 single-core and 12,686 multi-core, the mini is about 21% faster in single-core, but the Air holds a 29% advantage in multi-core performance. Once more, having more cores gives the bigger Apple silicon tablets a clear edge in threaded workloads.

The iPad mini (2026) starts at $699, €749, or £699, and pre-orders are already open.
