Karbonn, a once well-known Indian smartphone brand, is making a fresh attempt at re-entering the country’s smartphone market. The company has unveiled its new Rebel series, consisting of the Karbonn Rebel and Karbonn Rebel Pro. Both are 4G smartphones aimed at value-focused buyers and will be available for online purchase in India starting November 4.
The Karbonn Rebel is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset and features a 6.75-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
The back of the phone carries a large horizontal camera island with three cutouts. However, Karbonn has only confirmed a 50MP main rear camera, which suggests that the other two openings are likely decorative. The brand has not disclosed details about the front camera, although the device does include one.
Battery life is a major highlight, with the Rebel packing a large 7,000mAh battery and support for 18W wired charging. It runs Android 16 and is promised to receive two years of OS and security updates. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and an IP64 rating.
The Karbonn Rebel is priced starting at INR 11,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and comes in Blue, Gold, and Silver colour options.
The Karbonn Rebel Pro also uses the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset, but it offers a 6.7-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its rear camera module is vertically aligned and contains three cutouts. Once again, Karbonn has only confirmed a 64MP primary rear camera, while the front-facing camera is rated at 16MP.
The Rebel Pro has a slightly smaller 6,000mAh battery compared with the Rebel, but it supports faster 20W wired charging. It also runs stock Android 16 and comes with a commitment of two years of OS and security updates. Like the base model, it includes an IP64 rating, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
The Karbonn Rebel Pro is priced at INR 12,499 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration and will be available in Cherry Red, Blue, Gold, and Gray colour options.
