Huawei is reportedly preparing to introduce a new sub-brand called Starlight, and fresh details about its first smartphone have now emerged. The latest leak points to a wide-screen candybar design and high-end storage options.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the first Starlight phone will sport a 6.39-inch display and be powered by a Kirin 9000-series chipset. The top-end variant is said to offer up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The handset is tipped to launch next month. Digital Chat Station also noted that Starlight is merely an English translation of the sub-brand’s Chinese name and may not be used as its official name.

Earlier reports suggested that Huawei’s Starlight-branded phones would be mid-range devices with Kirin 8-series chipsets, run HarmonyOS, and retain Huawei’s XMAGE imaging technology.
