Amazon is expanding its Alexa hardware family with five new products that push its smart home ecosystem further into the living room, bedroom, and daily routines. The lineup includes a redesigned Echo Show 16, a new Echo Dot with Amazon's AZ3 chip, an Echo Studio with Home Camera, a smart alarm clock called Echo Time, and a first-of-its-kind Alexa Photo Frame. Each device arrives with Alexa+ support, giving Amazon's assistant more natural conversational abilities and the capacity to handle multi-step requests.
The headline product is the Echo Show 16, a smart display that replaces the Echo Show 15 with a larger 16-inch Full HD screen and a visibly thinner anodized aluminum frame. Amazon says the new display offers 10% more viewing area and comes with an optional Nanomatte anti-glare screen that borrows the same glare-reducing technology found on the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, cutting reflections by more than 90%. Inside, the Echo Show 16 features eight micro woofers, two tweeters, and a 13MP wide-angle camera with auto-framing. For the first time in the Echo Show line, the camera also supports night vision, making it useful in low-light environments.
Amazon also says the Echo Show 16 delivers 20% more computing power than the previous model and includes the full Fire TV experience, complete with a bundled remote. The home screen can be customized with three Screen Styles: a family organizer, a smart home dashboard featuring the new Alexa Home Map, or a digital photo frame. The Echo Show 16 is available for preorder at $499.99, or $569.99 with the Nanomatte display. Amazon is offering $100 off for early buyers, and shipping is expected later this year.
Among the smaller devices, the new Echo Dot becomes the first Echo speaker powered by Amazon's AZ3 chip with an onboard AI Accelerator. Amazon says this update improves voice recognition and enables faster local processing. The redesigned Dot also adds a fourth microphone for better far-field pickup and integrates a built-in smart home hub that supports Zigbee, Matter, and Thread. Another notable addition is an internal eero Wi-Fi extender that can add up to 1,000 square feet of Wi-Fi coverage. Amazon claims the new Echo Dot produces 50% more bass than its predecessor.
The new Echo Dot is priced at $99.99 and is available in Graphite, Glacier White, Agave Green, and Coral Pink. Amazon also introduced the Amazon Kids Echo Dot, designed specifically for children's spaces. It costs $109.99 and comes in Octopus and Penguin styles, with a one-year Kids+ subscription included.
The Echo Studio with Home Camera takes the previous Echo Studio speaker and adds a 13MP camera positioned on top. The speaker retains the same high-end audio configuration: a 3.75-inch high-excursion woofer, three full-range drivers, and Dolby Atmos support. The camera enables Alexa+ to deliver what Amazon calls "visual intelligence," allowing users to show Alexa objects and ask for help. For example, someone could hold up a board game box and ask for the rules, point a camera at a cereal box to reorder it, or use Live View in the Alexa app to check on another room. Amazon also says compatible Fire TV devices will soon be able to use the camera for larger-screen video calls.
The Echo Studio with Home Camera costs $249.99. For customers who prefer not to have a camera built in, the standard Echo Studio remains available for $219.99.
Amazon's most surprising addition is the Echo Time, a smart alarm clock designed for nightstands. It features a 3.2-inch circular touchscreen, hundreds of selectable clock faces, and no camera for privacy-conscious users. The optional smart alarm uses Amazon's Omnisense technology, including ultrasound-based breathing detection, to wake users during lighter sleep stages within a configurable window of 10 to 60 minutes from the set alarm time. Unlike many sleep-aware alarms, it does not require a wearable. Echo Time also gradually brightens the screen to simulate a sunrise, helping create a gentler wake-up experience.
The Echo Time is available now for $199.99 in Graphite, Glacier White, and Coral Pink. The Amazon Kids Echo Time starts at $209.99 and comes in Galactic Grape and Cosmic Lime designs.
Finally, Amazon has introduced the Alexa Photo Frame, which the company describes as the first photo frame with Alexa built in. The device features a 10.1-inch semi-matte anti-glare touchscreen and connects to Amazon Photos. Alexa+ can analyze the library to highlight meaningful images while filtering out clutter such as screenshots and receipts.
Users can also ask Alexa to display photos of specific people or trips and add voice notes to images. The Alexa Photo Frame costs $199.99 in Black, while versions with Birch or Walnut wood frames are priced at $229. It includes a 90-day Alexa+ trial.
