WhatsApp has introduced a fresh set of features aimed at making group chats more interactive and easier to manage. The headline addition is Group Status, a new way to share updates with a specific group of people.
Group Status lets you post Status updates that are visible only to members of a chosen group. Group members can view, react to, and like these updates, and they can also add their own. Like regular Status updates, Group Statuses disappear after 24 hours.
WhatsApp already allowed group admins to share a group's message history with new members when they were being added. Now, you can also share older messages with new members after they join the group—just tap their name in the group chat.

WhatsApp has also made it possible to pin messages in a group chat permanently, with no time limit.
Finally, a new chat filter shows every unread group chat where you were either mentioned or received a direct reply, including @all messages.
