OnePlus has introduced the Ace 7 series, bringing the Ace 7 Pro and the standard Ace 7 to the gaming-phone segment. The lineup is built around sustained performance, with both models featuring active cooling fans and very high refresh-rate screens. The more affordable Ace 7 may later be rebranded as the OnePlus 16R for markets outside China.
At the top of the range, the Ace 7 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform and can be configured with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Storage options begin at 256GB and expand up to 1TB, making it a practical choice for users who want to keep large games and media installed locally.
The display is a 6.78-inch LTPO panel designed for fluid visuals and efficient power use. OnePlus says it can reach 185Hz in certain supported games, while everyday use remains capped at 165Hz. The LTPO implementation also allows the refresh rate to scale downward to 1Hz when the screen shows static or low-motion content.
Photography hardware is also prominent, though the camera system reflects the priorities of a gaming device. The Ace 7 Pro carries a 200MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, paired with a 50MP telephoto lens featuring 3.5x optical zoom and an f/2.8 aperture. A 16MP selfie camera with f/2.4 sits on the front. Notably, there is no ultra-wide camera, a trade-off likely caused by internal space reserved for the cooling system.
The cooling solution is one of the series' main differentiators. The Ace 7 Pro uses a dual-airflow fan design with two intakes and two exhaust areas, helping heat move more effectively during extended gaming sessions. The vents are placed around the raised camera island rather than on the side frame, a layout that separates it from several existing gaming phones.
Power storage is equally ambitious, with a 9,000 mAh battery supporting up to 100W SuperVOOC charging. The Ace 7 Pro also appears to balance durability with its active cooling hardware: the front is protected by Crystal Shield Glass, the rear uses glass-fiber-reinforced plastic, the middle frame is metal-clad, and the phone holds IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K protection ratings.
Color options include Black, White, and a light blue shade. Pricing starts at CNY 4,799, or roughly US$715, for the 12GB/256GB model.
The standard Ace 7 keeps the same gaming-focused foundation but trims a few specifications. It uses a toned-down version of the flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V series, which retains the same CPU strength while reducing GPU power through split architecture and less dedicated memory.
Camera changes are also noticeable: the telephoto lens is replaced by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. The cooling fan also skips the dual-direction airflow system found in the Pro model, simplifying the internal layout.
The Ace 7 is offered in Black, White, and a gradient finish that shifts from gray toward a gold-like tone. It starts at CNY 4,399, or around US$655, for the 12GB/256GB configuration.
