Honor has quietly expanded its budget smartphone lineup with the Honor X8e 4G, a device that closely mirrors the Honor X7e Plus while adding several eye-catching features. The new model combines a high-resolution 108MP main camera, a large 7,700mAh battery with fast charging, and a surprisingly tough build, making it an interesting option in the entry-level segment.

The Honor X8e 4G was spotted on Honor’s Azerbaijan website, where local retailers list the phone at prices ranging from AZN 688 to AZN 820. At the upper end, that works out to roughly $480, while the AZN 820 price is about 17% higher than the AZN 590 asking price for a Samsung Galaxy A08 4G. The comparison is not perfectly straightforward, however, because Honor’s price refers to a 6GB RAM/256GB storage model, whereas the Galaxy reference price covers a 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant.
The Honor X8e 4G features a 108MP main camera
The standout hardware choice is the 108MP main sensor, which is unusual for a phone in this price range. However, the Snapdragon 685 chipset limits video recording to 1080p, so the high megapixel count does not translate into advanced video capabilities. The 6nm processor uses a combination of Cortex-A73 and Cortex-A53 CPU cores along with an Adreno 610 GPU.

The Honor X8e 4G supports dual nano-SIM 4G connectivity and includes Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2 with support for LDAC, aptX HD, and LHDC 5.0, as well as NFC. The phone ships with MagicOS 10, which is based on Android 16.
On the front, the X8e 4G uses a 6.87-inch LCD display with a 720 x 1,592-pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 1,020 nits. The screen also houses a 5MP punch-hole selfie camera. This display setup appears to be the same one used on the Honor X7e Plus.
The most notable difference between the two phones is the battery. The Honor X8e 4G carries a 7,700mAh battery and supports 45W Honor SuperCharge, while the X7e Plus uses a slightly larger 8,100mAh cell. Despite the different battery capacities, both phones share the same 8.3mm thickness and 218g weight, suggesting that Honor may have adjusted battery capacity for regulatory or market-specific reasons rather than redesigning the entire device.

The Honor X8e 4G also emphasizes durability. It carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, meaning it is dust resistant, water resistant, and built to endure high-pressure water jets, including high-temperature conditions. Honor claims the phone can survive a full day in a humid, salt-rich environment and operate across extreme temperatures from -30°C to +50°C. The display supports touch input even in the rain, and the phone includes a dedicated underwater photo mode. It also holds a five-star SGS impact resistance rating after testing from heights up to 2.5 meters, with Honor stating it is designed to remain usable for at least six years.
