Samsung is gearing up to unveil its latest addition to the SmartTag family, the Galaxy SmartTag3. With significant design modifications and upgraded features, this new device promises to enhance the user experience in tracking and locating important items.
First introduced in 2021, the Galaxy SmartTag was followed by the SmartTag2 in 2023. Now, fans of the product can look forward to the upcoming SmartTag3, which is set to bring a fresh perspective to Bluetooth tracking devices.
Recent leaks indicate that the Galaxy SmartTag3 will sport a distinctive squircle shape, diverging from its predecessors' designs. However, it appears that this model will not include a built-in lanyard hole, meaning users may need to purchase additional cases to easily attach it to everyday items like keys.
One of the standout features of the SmartTag3 is its central button, reminiscent of the original SmartTag. This button could assist users in locating their paired Galaxy devices, and a double press might trigger pre-configured automations through Samsung's Modes & Routines.
In terms of technology, the Galaxy SmartTag3 will be equipped with Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband (UWB) capabilities, alongside an IP rating to ensure protection against dust and water. As expected, Samsung Find integration will be a staple feature. The official launch date remains under wraps; however, speculation suggests that the SmartTag3 could debut alongside the Galaxy Buds On, a new ear hook-style earbuds, and the Galaxy S26 FE in early September.
