In anticipation of the highly awaited iPhone Air 2, investment analyst Jeff Pu has provided insightful details in a recent research note with GF Securities. Set to debut in the first quarter of 2027, the iPhone Air 2 promises to bring an array of enhancements over its predecessor, making it one of the most talked-about devices of the upcoming year.
The iPhone Air 2 will be equipped with Apple's new A20 Pro chip, mirroring the specifications of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. This powerful chip will be manufactured using TSMC's cutting-edge 2nm process technology, ensuring superior performance and efficiency.

One of the standout features of the iPhone Air 2 is a revamped dynamic island, which will be smaller in size compared to the original iPhone Air. Additionally, the device will sport a 48MP ultrawide camera, enhancing its photographic capabilities alongside the primary lens. For enhanced connectivity, the Air 2 will utilize Apple’s new N2 chip for wireless networking, expected to outperform the previous N1 chip by supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, and improving the functionality of AirDrop and Personal Hotspot.
Moreover, the device is set to include Apple's C2 modem, facilitating 5G mobile network connectivity—this modem is also anticipated to be featured in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in select markets. Despite these upgrades, the iPhone Air 2 will retain the same 6.5-inch display, 12GB of RAM, and an 18MP front-facing camera as its forerunner.
