Xiaomi 18 Pro to Feature Advanced Privacy Display Technology, According to Latest Reports

Recently, prominent tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that Samsung is testing its Privacy Display feature for the upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro. In a related development, the tipster has indicated that Xiaomi will also integrate a similar hardware-level privacy screen in its forthcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro series.

According to the tipster, Xiaomi is currently experimenting with a new 2K display for the Pro series, which will incorporate privacy display technology akin to that found in the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The reported display will combine both hardware and software-based privacy features designed to safeguard on-screen content from prying eyes.

While the tipster did not specifically mention the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, discussions in related Weibo threads suggest that Digital Chat Station was indeed referring to the upcoming flagship lineup, which is expected to be unveiled in September.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are rumored to retain the secondary rear display introduced with the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max; however, this rear screen is expected to increase to 4 inches.

According to rumors, both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipsets. The Pro model is anticipated to feature a 6.3-inch display and a battery capacity of 7,000mAh or larger, while the 18 Pro Max is expected to come with a 6.9-inch display. Additionally, both devices are rumored to include dual 200MP rear cameras.
