Samsung and OpenAI have established a significant partnership focused on semiconductor manufacturing, with Samsung serving as one of OpenAI's AI chip suppliers. Their latest collaboration, however, transcends this initial focus, as Samsung has signed a deal to provide ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to all employees.

This partnership is part of Samsung's broader initiative to accelerate AI integration, a trend the company has been fostering externally over recent years. Leveraging its expertise in Galaxy AI and its One UI operating system, Samsung aims to innovate and develop new products using AI technologies.
ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex will be introduced across all Samsung divisions, facilitating both technical and non-technical tasks such as software development, marketing, product development, and manufacturing processes.
While Codex originated as a coding tool, its utility has expanded beyond programming to include tasks like writing, reviewing, debugging code, and enhancing team productivity workflows.
As reported by OpenAI, Codex is utilized by more than 5 million people globally and has experienced a remarkable growth rate of nearly 800% since February 1 of this year.
Given OpenAI's growing presence within the Korean market, including adoption by industry giants like LG Electronics, this partnership is not unexpected. Additionally, Seoul National University has made ChatGPT Edu accessible to approximately 47,000 students and employees, further illustrating the increasing reliance on AI technologies in various sectors.
