In a surprising move, Samsung has begun rolling out an update featuring Android's May security patches to the Galaxy A54, just after releasing the same for the Galaxy A55. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Ultra remains on April 5 patches as of the time of writing.

We examined the changelog for the update to see if any features were particularly relevant to the mid-range Galaxy A5x series. However, the details show that the May patches address two critical vulnerabilities: one related to Elevation of Privilege (EoP) in the Android Kernel and another concerning Remote Code Execution (RCE) linked to Android's wireless ADB debugging interface. These vulnerabilities have the potential to impact a wide range of devices. Additionally, the update resolves 28 high-severity issues and 6 moderate-level problems, indicating a focused effort to address security concerns.
The Galaxy A54 update carries the build number A546EXXSJEZE5 and is relatively small, at approximately 286.79MB. Reports suggest that the staged rollout has reached several countries in Asia and the Middle East, with India and Saudi Arabia being the first to receive the update.
