Apple launched the M4 chip-powered Mac Mini in 2024, initially offering a base model with 256GB of storage. This model recently went out of stock in several countries, including the US, and has now been removed from Apple's online store globally.

As a result, the new entry-level storage for the M4 Mac Mini available on Apple's website is 512GB, priced at $799 with the default RAM option of 16GB. Users can also choose additional RAM configurations of 24GB and 32GB. For those needing more storage, upgrade options of 1TB or 2TB are available.

Furthermore, if customers opt for the M4 Pro chip, they can configure the Mac Mini with up to 64GB of RAM and an impressive 8TB of storage.

During Apple’s recent Q2 earnings call, CEO Tim Cook acknowledged a constrained supply of the Mac Mini due to unexpectedly high demand. He mentioned that it might take several months for Apple to achieve a balance between supply and demand.

On the Mac Mini and the Mac Studio, both of these are amazing platforms for AI and agentic tools, and the customer recognition of that is happening faster than we had predicted, which has led to higher than expected demand,” stated Tim Cook.
