The Apple iPhone 17e is officially available today, and we secured a unit for review! If you prefer a video format, you can find it here.
The iPhone 17e starts at $599/€700/£600/INR 64,900 with a base storage of 256GB. In comparison, last year's model, the iPhone 16e, offered only 128GB at the same launch price (with the exception of India). This means double the storage for the same price—a notable improvement!
The included items in the box remain the same: a SIM tool and a high-quality braided USB-C cable.

So, what new features can we expect from the iPhone 17e? For starters, it now includes MagSafe. If you ask users what addition they would like for the budget iPhone, frequently, they will mention a ProMotion, 120Hz display. MagSafe is likely another feature high on their lists, and now it's a reality.
The addition of MagSafe unlocks access to a broad ecosystem of accessories and aligns the iPhone 17e with the rest of Apple's iPhone lineup.
MagSafe support sets the iPhone 17e apart from many Ultra competitor smartphones.
This model also introduces an upgraded chip—the A19, which features a binned variant with a 4-core GPU. Additionally, the device integrates the latest C1X modem, enhancing connectivity options.
One aspect that continues to impress with the iPhone 17e is its ergonomics. In an era where smartphones tend to be larger, the iPhone 17e feels refreshing in hand—compact and comfortable. Weighing just under 170 grams, it is also lightweight.

The front display is protected by second-generation Ceramic Shield. Besides this, the specifications remain largely consistent—featuring a single 26mm f/1.6 main camera backed by a moderately sized 48MP 1/2.55-inch sensor. On the front, there is a capable 12MP selfie camera with autofocus.
The battery capacity stays at 4,005mAh, but the wireless charging speed has been upgraded to 15W.
However, it's important to note that not all new iPhone 17e owners will be upgrading from the 16e. Many may come from different platforms entirely. What remains clear is that most users will likely appreciate the iPhone 17e for what it offers, regardless of the incremental specification changes.
