Samsung Galaxy S26 to Feature Magnetic Cases, Oddly Shaped 5,000mAh Wireless Battery Pack

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 series is anticipated to incorporate built-in magnets supporting the new Qi2 wireless charging standard, moving beyond the magnetic cases used with the S25 series. Despite this integration, the phones will still require magnetic cases for optimal functionality.

Samsung plans to offer several first-party magnetic cases compatible with most S26 models, according to WinFuture. Notably, the Samsung Magnetic Carbon Case in black will not support the Ultra variant. The available cases include:

  • Samsung Magnetic Carbon Case Black for Galaxy S26 and S26+
  • Samsung Clear Case Transparent for Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra
  • Samsung Magnetic Clear Case Transparent for Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra
  • Samsung Magnetic Rugged Clear Case Black for Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra
  • Samsung Magnetic Silicone Case (Black or Grey) for Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra
  • Samsung Dual Magnetic Ring Holder compatible with all models

Additionally, Samsung is developing a 5,000mAh magnetic power bank—the Magnetic Wireless Battery Pack (model EB-U2500)—designed to magnetically attach to the phones and cases. Certified by the Wireless Power Consortium, it supports Qi v2.1.0 MPP for efficient wireless charging, as reported by NotebookCheck.

However, this power bank features an unusual design. Unlike most Qi batteries that have a flat surface to lie flush against a phone's flat back, this accessory includes cutouts above the coil ring. This might be intended either to fit a specific case or to accommodate the traditional vertical camera array on the Galaxy S phones’ top-left corner. This differs from the horizontal camera layout of iPhones and Pixel devices, which typically avoids interference with wireless chargers.

Leaks also indicate that Samsung will not significantly redesign the Galaxy S26’s camera setup, potentially reusing the S25’s camera hardware.

The Galaxy S26 series will benefit from improved wireless charging speeds as well, offering 25W charging for the S26 Ultra and 20W for the S26 and S26+ models—an upgrade from the previous 15W across all models—thanks to the Qi2 25W standard.

To complement these enhancements, Samsung has introduced a 25W wireless charger, model EP-P2900, although its certification is still pending.
