Spotify has launched a new personalization feature called Prompted Playlists, allowing users to have greater control over the music recommendation algorithm to create highly tailored playlists.
With Prompted Playlists, users can describe what they want to hear using a simple text prompt and set custom parameters, such as how often or when the playlist updates.

Spotify leverages a user’s complete listening history to generate truly personalized playlists. Each song recommendation is accompanied by context and an explanation of why it was selected.
The feature also includes pre-set prompts that create personalized playlists directly on the Home screen. Currently in beta, Prompted Playlists are available exclusively to Premium users in New Zealand and support English only. An expansion to additional regions is planned for next year.
