Apple recently announced the winners of its 2025 App Store Awards and has now shared the most downloaded apps and games on iPhone and iPad for the year 2025.
Starting with the top free iPhone apps, ChatGPT leads the list, followed by Threads, Google, TikTok, and WhatsApp.
Among paid iPhone apps, HotSchedules ranked first, with Shadowrocket, Procreate Pocket, AnkiMobile Flashcards, and Paprika Recipe Manager 3 rounding out the top five.
In the games category, BlockBlast! was the most downloaded free game on iPhone. Minecraft: Dream it, Build it! topped the paid games chart, while NFL Retro Bowl '26 led the Arcade Games category.
For iPad users, YouTube was the most downloaded free app in 2025, with Procreate claiming the top spot among paid apps.
Roblox was the most downloaded free iPad game, while Minecraft: Dream it, Build it! again led the paid games category. NFL Retro Bowl '26 also topped the Arcade Games chart for iPad.
