Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Prototype Reveals Quad Rear Camera Design

Source: Date:

The recently announced Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold officially features a triple rear camera setup. However, new images suggest that Samsung's first tri-foldable device was initially tested with a quad-rear camera configuration.

A Samsung executive shared photos on LinkedIn showing a Galaxy Z TriFold prototype equipped with four rear cameras. While the device in the photo resembles the final design, a closer look confirms the presence of a fourth camera cutout, which is thinner than the other three but matches in diameter.

This prototype indicates that Samsung initially explored a quad-camera setup but ultimately decided to exclude the additional sensor in the production model.

The commercial Galaxy Z TriFold sports a 200MP main sensor, accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The foldable device will launch in South Korea on December 12, followed by availability in China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the United States.
