Mobvoi, the brand behind the TicWatch lineup, appears to be stepping away from releasing new Wear OS smartwatches. While the company hasn’t officially confirmed its exit from the smartwatch market, its silence on upcoming devices suggests a significant slowdown in hardware innovation.
Mobvoi’s Future in Wear OS Smartwatches Looks Uncertain
Rather than explicitly announcing the end of its smartwatch launches, Mobvoi has opted to share that it currently has no new product announcements. This vague response fuels speculation that Mobvoi may no longer prioritize launching new Wear OS models.

In the fall of 2024, Mobvoi launched the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro as a budget-friendly alternative to higher-end smartwatches like the Apple Watch Ultra. However, one of the brand’s recurring issues has been inconsistent and delayed software updates. For example, many of Mobvoi’s smartwatches still run versions prior to Wear OS 5, despite Wear OS 6 already being available.

Not Unexpected
Given the challenges Mobvoi has faced with software updates and increasing competition within the Wear OS ecosystem, this move doesn’t come as a surprise. For now, Mobvoi seems content to maintain and provide critical updates for its current devices rather than pushing new launches.
