The Realme GT 8 Pro faces a dilemma—is it a true flagship or a flagship killer? Its €1,100 price suggests the former, yet its hardware aligns more with the latter. Results from last week’s poll are clear: the GT 8 Pro urgently needs a price cut.
The device’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and impressive 7,000mAh battery stood out in our review. Its 6.79” OLED display delivers a sharp, high-quality 1440p+ resolution at a 144Hz refresh rate with Dolby Vision support. However, it lacks an LTPO panel, the USB-C port is limited to USB 2.0 speeds, and video stabilization leaves room for improvement. Similarly, the ultra-wide and selfie cameras fall short of expectations.

Such shortcomings might be overlooked if the GT 8 Pro were priced competitively as a flagship killer, but at €1,100 for the 12GB RAM/256GB variant and €1,200 for the 16GB RAM/512GB model, it is positioned in the premium flagship segment. Although discounts of around €100 are available, the phone remains expensive compared to rivals.
Poll participants largely agree—the Realme GT 8 Pro requires a significant price reduction, arguably more than €100. Some users appreciate the phone’s value despite flaws, particularly since competitors like the OnePlus 15 also present their own compromises. However, many potential buyers are considering alternatives from other brands.
On a positive note, few respondents expressed concerns about the device’s hardware or software performance, and it is expected that the price will decrease over time.
